Floyd Mayweather Jr. Interview After Manny Pacquiao vs Cotto

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Interview After Manny Pacquiao vs Cotto

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Interview After Manny Pacquiao vs Cotto - Here's the full video and transcript of the Sky Sports interview of Floyd Mayweather Jr. right after Manny Pacquiao win over Miguel Cotto.

"The thing is with Pacquiao I don't see any versatility as a fighter; he's a good puncher but just one-dimensional."

"When they asked Manny Pacquiao 'would you like to fight Floyd Mayweather' he said talk to my promoter; they didn't ask your promoter they asked you, what do you want to do? Manny Pacquiao was asked the same question 'do you want to fight Floyd Mayweather' three times. This is something the world is trying to force on him. If he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather all he has to do is step up to the plate."

"I'm in a no-win situation. If I beat Manny Pacquiao, do you know what they are going to say? 'You are supposed to beat him, you are Floyd Mayweather, you are the bigger man'. If I knock him out they'll say 'you're supposed to knock him out he's been knocked out before'."

"I'm in a no-win situation and when I beat him no one is going to be surprised because he's been beaten before; whatever I do to Pacquiao has been done before - he's been beaten on three occasions. And if I knock him out I don't want the world shouting because he's been knocked out twice before."

"If I go out and make $60-75 million in one night; come on - I'm not losing. Can Manny Pacquiao beat me? Absolutely not."

"The world's going to go 'wow' if Floyd Mayweather gets beaten. That's what everyone is looking to see. What's going on now at the world of boxing is they're trying to build a fighter, make a fighter that can beat me."

"I don't get no respect in the world of boxing. I do my interviews, you got different fighters that disrespect me, and come in on my interviews, which is not fair. Now Manny Pacquiao when he does his interviews, he can do his interviews for 20 minutes, then they go interview his trainers, and the rest of the people in his team. Now, with me, they interview me, they got guys jumping in, being very disrespectful."

"I'm not saying Cotto is not a good fighter, flat-footed, been in a lot of wars. There's nothing cool about taking punishment. 'Oh, I beat this guy up he beat me up. I got a swell eye, a rip lip, bloody nose, a broken rib, made a few million, and my hand got raised.' There's nothing cool about taking punishment."

"Floyd Mayweather beat 13 world champions, 6 time world champion, in 5 different weight classes, and won official belts. I beat fighters at official classes, and I move up to 130. No different than Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao weigh 106 when he was 16, just like Floyd Mayweather."

"My career is fine, what's so cool is I can take no punishment, no bumps, no bruises. When my career is over I have a job as a commentator, and I will be a great promoter. That's the great thing about my career, I can't speak for other fighter."

Ricky Hatton’s fiancee Jennifer collapses in tears as he suffers brutal knock-out in Las Vegas

As her man lies unconscious on the canvas just yards away, the worry and distress of Ricky Hatton’s fiancée Jennifer Dooley is all too plain to see. Seconds earlier, the former college lecturer let out an ear-piercing scream as the Mancunian boxer was floored for the third and final time by Filipino Manny Pacquiao. Miss Dooley, 27, was comforted by Jenna Coyne - the partner of Hatton’s younger brother Matthew, who had earlier won a points victory on the undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, after seeing the British world champion knocked out in the second round.

It’s a knockout: British boxer Ricky Hatton loses out to Filipino Manny Pacquiao in the second round Wearing a close-fitting red dress, Miss Dooley gripped the back of the seat in front of her for support before turning to Miss Coyne with her hand over her mouth in horror as Hatton, nicknamed The Hitman, remained flat on his back on the canvas for three worrying minutes. Hatton’s mother Carol also looked on concerned as medics helped bring him to his senses. Pacquiao, known as Pac Man, felled Hatton with a brutally quick left hook to the chin. Referee Kenny Bayless didn’t even bother to count before stopping the fight with just a second of the round remaining.

He had landed just 18 punches on his opponent, compared to Pacquiao’s 73. Celebrities including Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington and British boxer Amir Khan were at ringside for the fight, dubbed The Battle of East and West’. Comedian Russell Brand was seated next to rap mogul P. Diddy at the junior welterweight title match band the unlikely pair were later joined by superstar Jay Z. 33-year-old Brand looked slightly starstruck as he was introduced to the rapper, who attended the fight without his wife Beyonce.

Diddy Singer Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary last week, were also among the stars to watch Hatton lose out to the Filipino at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as well as Chelsea Footballer Joe Cole and girlfriend Carly Zucker and actor Jack Nicholson. Brand and Diddy, who are set to star together in the movie Get Him to the Greek, appeared to be getting on like a house on fire during the match. The defeat cost Hatton his IBO World Light-welterweight title and left many in the sport - including Hatton’s trainer Floyd Mayweather - urging him to quit. But the boxer’s father, Ray, who was also at ringside, said any decision to retire would come from the fighter alone.

Enjoying the action: Actors Denzel Washington (left) and Jack Nicholson Hatton Senior said his son was ‘perfectly all right’ after undergoing hospital checks but admitted the boxer’s long-term future was now in doubt. ‘Obviously we will support him in whatever he does, Ray Hatton said. ‘And we’ll leave that with him. ‘At this moment in time he’s probably got a few mixed feelings about it. He’ll make that decision whichever way he wants to and the family will support him. I don’t think he would let anybody make that decision for him.’ Miss Dooley left her job as a lecturer at Manchester College of Art and Technology to support Hatton ahead of his only previous defeat, to Floyd Mayweather Junior in December 2007.
