Mga Duwa’ng Kinaraan by Dahong Laya

Patentero, bato-lata, dakop-dakop, langit-lupa, shatong, tsinelasay, tago-tago ug uban pang mga duwa’ng kinaraan. Subo kaayong pamalandungon nga panagsa nalang ta makakita nga duwaon sa mga bata. Sa una, kadtong bata pa ko, hilig kayo ko muduwa ug shatong hasta bato-lata. Muduwa sab ko ug tago-tago, hilabi na kung ang imong kadungan ug tago kay ang imong crush, pagkalami sa paminaw.

Kaning mga duwaa dili lang maghatag ug lingaw sa usa ka bata, kung di usa sab ni siya ka ehersisyo. Sa mga pagtuon karon, ang mga bata nga ga-edad ug sais anyos pataas dili na nimo makita mag dagan-dagan sa gawas, kanunay lang nga ga-atubang ug ga tuplok sa ilang mga kompyuter. Ga sige lang ug lingkod, ug usahay man gani nganha na sa atubangan sa kompyuter makatulog.

Matod pa sa usa ka doctor, nga ang bata nga dili mag lihok-lihok ug walay ehersisyo kay posibleng masakit sa kasing-kasing.

Kani sa’ng teknolohiya sah, mao sab gyuy gahatag nato ug sakit. Sakit sa mata, sakit sa ulo kung sige ka lang ga-atubang sa telebisyon, celpon ug kompyuter, ug sakit sab sa bulsa kay dako na kayo ka nga mabayaran sa koryente.

One of the best drummer of his generation, best performance, nice kit, nice set-up, tight drumming, tight pocket, heavy hands with less effort (amazing!), what more could you ask for,

He was just destructed on the last part b'coz of the loose hi-hats but overall best performance, i wish i could be as fast & tight as that.

Bisaya kang Dako Kung..

This is the perspective/view of my co-grounder Shemberg on how to know if the person is a "pure-blooded bisaya". (Bisaya is one of the native languages of the Filipino People).

1. You feel insulted when a non-Bisdak ridicules someone by saying "Bisaya", but it's okay if another Bisdak uses it to another Bisdak, as in "ah, Bisayaa sab oy!"

2. You feel proud when Matud Nila is sung and you sing along with it bisan dili nimo memorize.

3. Hibal-an nimo kung unsa ang “habal-habal” bisan wala pa ka kasakay niani.

4. Common usages kung ga-tinagalog: the use of "kuwan" as interjection, ang superlative nga pirmi gamiton mao ang "masyado", i.e., maingay masyado, sobra masyado, bilisan mo masyado (read: paspasi lagi) adunay tendency nga pulihan lang ang "o" or "a" og "i", i.e., ang atop into atip, ang kan-on into kan-in, ang sud-an into sud-in ug ang utan into utin)

5. You know what "itlog mo 'noy orange" means.

6. You know that the karaang "bayle" aron mahimong modern gipulihan na og "disco" (discoral).

7. Aduna kay hibaw-an nga at least usa ka kanta ni Yoyoy Villame or Max Surban bisan sa tono lang.

13. You're familiar with the brand Loalde in clothing.

14. You crave for inun-unan, paklay, ginamay, halang-halang, kinilaw, ginamos, buwad, binignit,, sikwate paresan sa puto maya.

15. Esteban Escudero and Golyat are folk heroes.

16. “Handumanan sa Usa Ka Awit” is closer to your heart than “Maalaala Mo Kaya” TV show.

17. At ...pag-nagulat-nabigla ang mga Bisdak ang biglang sigaw ay "ay bilat" o kaya "ay otin sa kabayo"

18. SUTUKIL is as common as TAPSILOG; in fact you know that SUTUKIL came first.

19. Your common pulutan for tuba drinking is "TARGET" - asin nga targeton lang nimo sa imong tudlo.

20. You have at least once in your lifetime experienced "Ang Mysterio sa Paglawig sa Barko Padulong Manila", a phenomenon that when the boat is approaching Manila, everybody around you suddenly becomes Tagalog speaking nga adtong miaging adlaw lang pwerting Bisaya pa ninyo!

21. You whisper Bisaya to a fellow Bisdak in the midst of a Tagalog crowd ...and he replies loudly to you in Tagalog!

22. The first question you ask when you found out that someone is Bisdak, "taga-asa man diay ka?"

23. You usually use the warning phrase “Hala Ka”!

24. Mike Johnston - Intermediate Drum Fills

Production Area Spills and Cracks

In the place where I am working, the production area was cleaned-up b'coz it will be converted into a car showroom. While People are still cleaning-up. I just took picture of the paint spills and the floor cracks. So, this is what I came up with. These are set of Hi-Resolution Brushes, It would be more nicer though if I used a SLR-Camera, but so sad to say I don't have one, so I borrowed a Digital Cam. Hope this brushes will be useful in your works. If you find it useful and use it in your works, I would be glad to see the outcome, just send me the link of your artwork.

Tarp Ink Splats

this brush was accidentally made when the black ink of the printer head overflow while printing on a tarpaulin and spilled all over it. instead of throwing the wasted tarpaulin, i decided to make a brush out of it, and this is what i have.

this set consists of 6 hi-resolution brushes with textures from the tarpaulin surface. hope you'll find it useful like i did.

Drum Shred at Notespell Studio

Here is a video of my co-Davao Drum League at the NoteSpell Studio. These are the three of the bests that we can offer. On the left side is Rhon-Rhon "Kid Wonder" Asiong, on the right side is Gibson "GB" Viduya, who is the current drummer for the band After Image and on the center is the one we call "Master" Raffy Donato, who is the current drummer of the J&J band and IV-Play.
